Thanks for stopping by. I'm originally from the US where I bummed around a lot from East to West and North to South. From Cali originally but lived for years in New Mexico, and for short periods in Detroit, North Carolina, Vermont, and Colorado.
My life took a huge turn when my mom died in 2010 and I eventually said fuck it, quit my job, and bought a one-way ticket to Beirut in 2012 with an idea that I crowd funded... to connect people in different countries that share political conflicts for online discussions over dinner. And I just kept scraping enough together with crowd funders and grants to keep moving across the Middle East, North Africa, South Asia, and eventually Europe (once I could sort of afford Europe... and then quickly realized that I couldn't and spent several months living in a closet in Istanbul, broke AF).
I met my wife in Amsterdam while I was crashing in someone's basement and setting up my small nonprofit, Open Roads Media, based on the aforementioned concept. She came with me to Turkey... and we've been together ever since.
I've been in the middle of some pretty wild situations these past few years, and when I have the time I'll put all of it into a book.
At the moment I'm living in Spain with my wife (she's Spanish) and decided to use my stationary time to start a podcast, called Latitude Adjustment, where I interview people from around the world... while I apply for more grants to get back out there again for more projects. There's been a lot of lean times, but looking back I wouldn't trade the decision to buy that ticket to Beirut for anything. No real hometown ( I've only been back to the US once in the past 5 years), but lots of "homes" and friends all over. Hope I can contribute something to this community. I love the idea.
