27 year old ( almost 28...woooo ) white dude, who has lived in Maryland my entire life. Been trying for the past 8 years to do the standard "get a job, go to work, come home, go to sleep, get up, go to work, come home, pay bills" life. And for the past 8 years, I have racked up an unbelievable amount of debt ( mostly in the form of hospital bills from a lack of insurance ) and been fucked over by 3 different major banks and their various fees and rules.
After getting fired from my last job in January 2014, I realized that I just can't handle that life. It's not for me. A social butterfly I am not, a worker drone I am not. And from January 2014 until about August 2014, I continued to try to find a job and go back to that world. At some point in August, it all fell into place. That I wasn't meant to be here. I was supposed to go elsewhere. I was supposed to leave and find my own place to settle in the world.
So since then, I have been making preparations to start traveling this coming Spring. I will be going by bicycle, and I plan to see all the sights I can see, with only a few particular dates of necessity aiming me towards certain places at certain times. Unlike some, I will be sticking to the back roads and mountain paths as much as possible, opting to stay closer to nature, and farther from people. I've always felt at peace when in the wild. It brings me happiness.
