Tumbleweed

I hopped trains and hitchhiked around America on and off for 10 years (from the ages of 15 to 25) and then largely gave it up. I'm now 38, so it's been 13 years since I traveled as a fabo (fake hobo). I still retain a lot of the skills that I learned on the road and may have a chance to put said skills to use starting in February 2015.
I currently live in northern Vermont and am laid off for 2-3 months in the winter. Winters up here are long and brutal and by February 1st of each year I've become a moody bitch. I'm seriously considering hitting the road next winter and heading south until I reach somewhere comfortably warm. I will be doing this trip on a super limited budget (a la as close to free as possible) so I'm joining this online community in an effort to grind the rust off of my fabo skills. All feedback and criticisms are welcome.
