Greetings. I'm a recent renegade from the corporate news world in NYC ever so slightly dipping a toe into the nomad life. I recently spent two weeks in North Carolina at two very small intentional communities and now couch surfing in Santa Fe. While in NC I rented a white chevy cargo van and just threw a twin mattress and a cooler full of food and it worked wonderfully.

More about me...I've been a lifelong personal growth junkie. Started seeing a gestalt talk therapist just after high school and then joined a few men's groups one of which was in the mythopoetic style a la Robert Bly, James Hillman & Michael Meade. I've also dabbled in Core Energetics. For the past 3 years I've been steadily practicing the art of Circling as popularized by Decker Cunov and the Integral Center of Boulder, CO. I'm part of the Circling Europe school and currently finishing my second year of training to lead circles myself. Circling is relational meditation that combines presence practice buddhist meditation with talk therapy in a group setting. There are also lots of NVC (Nonviolent Communication) skills we use inside the practice.

On a more nuts and bolts level I've been living in NYC for the past 24 years and working as a video editor. I started out in advertising and was working for a major news network for the past 14 years. I needed to leave as the work, while easy, was tedious and the values of the organization didn't line up with mine. It was so depressing to walk into work everyday and see Trump get hours of airtime every week while Bernie, who was selling out stadiums, got only a few minutes. I sit pretty far left on the political spectrum. I believe we all have a right to a living wage, collective barganing, single payer healthcare, free higher education and healthy civil liberties. I also listen to the podcasters Chris Ryan and Joe Rogan.

I do love city life, I'm an urbanist at heart, but the speed and intensity of NYC is too hard and fast. I hope to explore other smaller cities in states like Arizona, Northern California and Montana.

When I'm not working or traveling I relax by watching indie, foreign and classic films from the 40s, rollerblading, russian sauna culture and connecting with people through the art of Circling & Nonviolent Communcation.
