anyone else on here have a Permit to carry? I have my Pennsylvania concealed now and hitched last week for nearly 5 days with my .22 revolver stowed away in my pack. good for 5 years. I've traveled without a gun more than a concealed now and really just carry for more hunting eventually and for what the hell. What's cool too is on my permit it says Use: hunting and fishing. I want to get a bigger caliber and lighter gun and use shot shells in a .38 or something to hunt. i have a whole list of states that reciprocate for a concealed out of Penn. Obviously if you have one or are from a different state this would vary. you can't bounce state to state with one, gotta go to all reciprocal but most of the states i frequent and travel through are. And if I needed to be or wanted to go to a non honoring state I can stash the revolver somewhere I imagine. Anyone else carry a firearm-legally?

I've been thinking about getting a cc. I have a .45 and would love to be able to take it with me when traveling without the worry of a felony.

Yeah man, no felony if you have that little stupid fucking laminated piece of paper that costs 20 bucks and says you have the right to carry a firearm that you may have never even fired once

Pennsylvania doesn't have a "concealed carry permit." It has a license to carry firearms. Concealed or openly.

Also, carrying a firearm without a license is usually a misdemeanor of some class, not a felony. If you're caught using it in the commission of a felony, then you're getting a felony either way, and that will add to it.

its a 20 dollar card and it says exactly permit to carry but it still makes it legal and gives your right to carry in reciprocal states

It's a good idea to have options. Unfortunately the variance between states (and even cities) makes it tough to be in compliance all the time (I've quit trying or even caring). This applies to knives, OC spray, guns, ect...

For travel I prefer small semi-autos and pocket guns. My current favorite is my Sig p238.

There was a deal online recently for Kahr CW pistols, which are small, but functional guns.

Also, Topsy was correct about the terminology regarding the PA LTCF (I still call it a permit too, just force of habit I suppose. I'm a newer PA resident)

The first time I hitched the west coast I carried my .40 in my pack. Got stopped hitching in Redwood national park. The ranger asked if i had weapons and I said i had my gun, and he asked me to take it out for him. i was like "Uh, no. But you can take it out" (was not about to get into that situation). He checked it, ran it, told me I could have a clip in it in Cali (didnt know that) and handed it back to me and gave me a ride to Orik. said he was glad i had a gun cause i had a girl with me. Pretty cool situation.

Damn nice. I've done some hitching with mine. In pa where my permit is from and ky. Is your permit reciporical in Cali?

I got caught on a train in OK. Cop was patting me down and asked if i had a knife...ppppfffttttttt..... I don't carry knives i got a 45 the look in his eyes was priceless ( i have a CCW) he never asked to see my weapon just ran my ID said ok you have to leave the yard have a nice day. BTW caught out of there 3 hours later :)

I wish they'd allow for those permits to people under 21 but alas such is not the case. However in states that do allow it such as Vermont, my Iver Johnson .32 Revolver does the job.

I have a PA also. I'll be going to ND this summer to get a non-resident. Those two will cut it down to, I think, only 6 states I won't be legal in.

Hey preacher. Got the AZ and should.be receiving the Utah in the mail soon. With Pa and these two it covers nearly every one.besides the usual.uptight few that don't allow any out of state. Any tips or info or.doing this @Preacher

@Tatanka. Got to. Usacarry.com. all the info you need plus the maps to see what states recognize other states.

Didn't see an alert that I was tagged. Sorry, wasn't ignoring you My Man. I guess it's just 2 things.
As I said in the PM that as long as your license is recipricol, you're not under the influence, and your not doing anything illegal there isn't anything they can do. TECHNICALLY. But I'm rubber tramping in a completely legal vehicle. You're hitching so you may get some shit...made up probable cause or whatever that ALL hitchers get. I'm not saying that I'm immune on a dark GA backroad but you're more likely then me to get an illegal search and/or confiscation even with the permit. Just be on the up-and-up with every interaction i would guess and if you do feel it necessay to identify you are carrying then make sure you note badge number, name, car number, etc... so he doesn't try to pull a confiscation but leave you on the side of the road....however illegal that move is.

It can happen. I got taken into "protective" custody back in 98 for having a firearm at an Eagles game. Not posted anywhere that firearms weren't allowed. They said "Alcohol is served here." I said "Public place. No signs. Not a bar or tavern." Held me for 13 hours. Wanted to just 'let me go' and make my gun disappear.

Damnnn thanks for the reply. I plan to.hitch with it unloaded and locked in a soft case. And at night if I think of it just load and sleep. My main reason isn't really protection either, just to hunt eventually it if.need be. Thanks for the reply and cree yes that's a great site.

Yep that I know. Maryland as well and new York same with Cali and connetocit and r.i.

Ditched the concealed with pops. Too many perameters. With a dog I ain't risking further trouble and him be impounded and especially with the recent police bull shit going down.
