hello from Virginia Beach

I thought I would introduce myself, my name is Ryan... I am living in Virginia Beach right now. I plan on leaving here in March and heading out west to hike and break free from this standard of living society has set forth. I used to write, and know a few train buffs, and a few guys on the road... but I have yet to make my first trip. I am here to learn more about trainhopping, traveling, 'wilderness squatting' and hopefully finding some people to travel with. I am hoping to get my feet wet as a freelance writer.

I have been lurking for awhile, and I really dig the concept of this site.
 
I plan on catching out after Christmas, at the latest March... if anyone wants to head out west, or anywhere for that matter, give me a holler. I would appreciate any advice, or information you can give me...
