Is white people stretching their ears cultural appropriation?

I have dreads too and just wanted to mention, the reason behind the rasta wearing of locks. It comes from the biblical character Samson who was an isrealite and who's parents took a nazarite vow on his behalf. He is said to have had seven locks on his head which the rastas believe to be the first mention of dreads. Samson was Egyptian.

I haven't seen too many egyptian rastas so who's appropriating who?

There is that. Everything goes round in circles and you can never tell who's borrowing what from who. Most of Christianity is bastardized Egyptian and Sumerian mythology anyways.

Late again but I have some good article recs on the subject. There's a great article by Farah Shah Cultural Appropriation is a Toxic Concept. The followup essay is also a great read. Also Cultural Appropriation, White Nationalism, and Woke Nationalism by Rhyde Wildermuth is another good read. Also the anarchist library has a few good essays by someone going under "Flower Bomb," the title says it all.

I have dreads and gauged ears and I am s sick of getting into arguments with people. Recently it's been getting a lot better as the rise of fascism and the genocide in Palestine has gotten people's priorities straight. So slactivist pet causes are being tossed aside these days.
