Planning 1 month excursion

My good friend and backpacking buddy is going to be starting med school in the fall. We'll have about a month in the summer for one last adventure before he takes off so we're trying to plan or at least get an idea of where we would like to go. I'll be meeting him in Dallas around June. I've looked through Matt's list and found some great ideas and I've also read through the best places in america thread to get some good ideas. I was just curious if anyone had any other must see/do adventure ideas that weren't listed or mentioned in those threads.
 
i'm in austin if you want to visit. also, where are you trying to go? i didn't see a specific route specified.
 
We may hit you up in Austin on the way back since he currently lives in San Antonio. We don't have a specific destination or route yet. We we're thinking about heading general directions towards some cool stuff and then veering off here and there.
 
Yay Izzy!! I also PM'd you on some optional researches too. I love doing that before I travel. And soo cool that this site is providing you with information!!
 
Thanks I read part of it this morning. Had to run some errands before I go location scouting for my film project. I've definitely found a lot of good information going through all the different subs.
