Snake Handling Churches of West Virginia

well if you get to check it out. im wondering if theres a trick to this. when they bring the snakes out its rattle snakes and copperheads. now copperheads are venomous but its very weak. there is no record of anyone in the usa ever dying from a copperhead bite. im wondering if the presence of the copperheads makes the rattlers lay back on aggression. like if they had non venomous king snakes the king snakes would definitely attack the rattlers and possibly eat them.

yeah but you can develop immunity to snake bites getting nipped. and like i said a copperhead really isnt deadly. you can also develop an immunity to strichnine, and playing with fire is no big deal. sufi muslims are jesus freaks and do the same. play with cobras, eat glass, drink poison, and scewer. but today everyone has an ice pick in their head and a bone through their nose. but the ones that hammer daggers into their skulls in iran always do it in key spots around the top of the head like a crown never dead center. theres gotta be a trick to this. the music doesnt do it snakes cant hear so i thought introducing two species together may do it. like coppeheads can kill rattlers with their venom and visa versa so maybe they just play it cool.

it's estimated that between 70 and 80 people have died from snakebites suffered during a church service since the practice began in the early 1900s, according to Leonard, dean of the divinity school at Wake Forest University, who has researched and written about snake handling in Appalachia.

ok so thats less than one person a yer dies from religious snake handling. so it seems snakes are our friends and handling them is safer that hopping trains, driving, smoking or flying. oh i forgot fatness thats really the number one preventable cause of death not cigarettes. ok so snakes are safer than twinkies
