We now have 'push notifications'! (1 Viewer)

If you haven't noticed already, StP now has the ability to 'push' notifications and alerts to your computer and mobile devices. This will hopefully add towards making StP more 'app like' for mobile users and let you know immediately when you get an alert (just like a native app would). One important note is that push notifications only work on desktop computers and android devices. iOS/Apple users are out of luck cause, well, apple is stupid and doesn't allow that kind of thing. Although I haven't tested it, this likely means that if you're using the Safari web browser on a desktop/laptop push notifications will probably not work for you either, because... apple...

While using StP, you should get a pop up asking if you'd like to receive notifications:

If push notifications become too much or overwhelming, you can get rid of them by going to your account preferences:

I've noticed that I'm getting quite a few notifications, so I thought it would be worth pointing out that you can decide exactly what notifications you get on this page of your account preferences:

This way, if you feel like you're getting bombarded with push notifications for things you don't care about or can wait to see next time you're on the site, use this page to decide what you do and don't want to be notified about!
