Greetings to all the travellers. I signed up a few days ago, having resolved myself to finally cut the umbilical cord of the mainstream society and seek my own world. I'm new to the travelling world, so if anyone would care enough to lend a boy a hand, I'd gladly read anything you can suggest.

Currently, I'm in the Chattanooga, TN, area which has been my societal prison for too long. I'm ready to go, and I plan on heading out toward Seattle, WA, in mid-October. From there, I dunno what, but adventure awaits and I'm fucking bored!

Your avatar is excellent as well.

It's clear and clean... I think that particular ouroboroIs would look good with a snowy landscape behind it... if someone talented in graphics could arrange it... in an animated GIF format.

I adapted this image I searched spur of the moment... because your original post made me recall a favored book series.

Right on! I haven't read any of Robert Jordan's stuff, yet, but it's cropping up a lot lately. I think the universe is trying to tell me something. Ha!
 
I have been a fan since... before I can clearly remember... hehe...

EDIT: I will add... Brandon Sanderson did an excellent job so far... though my lack of reading initiative has kept me from finishing through his final installment in honor of Jordan. Jordans passing... was a cosmic tradgedy for the series... even If Sanderson has done it justice... ... sorry... this is a rant fromthe fucking heart... God Damn... ... it's unfair you know... RIP James Oliver Rigney, Jr. 'aka Robert Jordan.

Uh... it's a cool place. If I can sayso as a pseudo ambassador... kinda a responsible mod... but mostly a goof.
This place is uh... good. Lot of info on alternative living and travel.
Definitely a lot of advice and discussion to comb through for insight.
And for that there is the search function at the top right of the page across from your name mail and alerts...

So yea...

First i want to say WELCOME, secondly if you travel in the fall and are cayching out west bound, pack a serious thermal mid layer, mountains get far colder with the windchill on that locomotive than people think.
 
Thanks, everyone, for the warm welcoming and well-wishing. I'm stoked, anxious, and fucking ready to go! But definitely looking forward to all the knowledge I can gleam before I head out. Hope to meet at least some if not all of you in the real world!
