Hello to all you smelly wonderfully vibrant people!! My names Fred and I'll be your green horn today! Lol but for real in all seriousness :p

I'm brand new to this site and for the most part this life style. I have 3 very good friends, maybe you've met them (Cash, Crouton and Sarahdail), who have all been doing this for years. I've more or less been keeping tabs on them from the side lines and I'm finally ready to take my own dive into this crazy pool of road dog, traveling kid, gutter punk what have you lifestyle.
I'm pretty pumped up about it to be honest. It just sort of alligns with a lot of my ideals and what I think truly matters in life. To be happy with or at the very least engaged in life, to live the way you feel inclined to, to say fuck the government you ain't gotta tell me shit no more!! and to simply experience as much as you can as soon as you can. Kinda like being a modern day cowboy? Where the only thing I rely on is the sweat on my brow and the strength of my back.
But yeah apart from how "I feel" about it and all that shit I'd like to open up and reach out to anyone who might currently be grouped up and possibly have room for one more. Or perhaps an experienced traveller kicking it solo who wouldn't mind being my sensai for a lil bit. I'm no fool and there's a lot to learn so I wanna approach this right. I'll be posting and checking up on others posts to see what's up but if anyone knows a guy/gal (preferably gal ;p) who they could hook a brother up with or if your heart goes out to me and you wanna help yourself. Please just let me know friends :)

Hey welcome to STP - nice intro! Lots of good info here as well as there are a lot of people in travel atm. If you know when you want to jump off - put a post into our subforum "Road Dogs and meet up" so you might get an idea or find someone going the way you plan. :) Good luck and have fun!

Why thank yaa. Good looks as well on the name of the subforum. I've been surfing all day and had no luck finding the exact one. After I a while I was like ptshh.

And I feel like more or less where are ya'll headed? For real I have very little plans other than getting out there. I feel like regulars are the ones that know the spots, the people. Where to stay and romp around and where to go "hellll nah". But yeah

And soon. Like within the next 3 weeks if I could find something of interest then I'm in there like swim wear baby :D

And I have enough for a bus ticket to at least near where ever shits happenin so there's that. I mean I could hitch out but I'd rather have a couple goes with someone who's not such a novice first.
 
to be honest dude, hitching is dead simple. Just look like someone people would put in their car, have a thumb, and be willing to wait. It's also easier to hitch alone than it is in a group. Hitching in Florida is pretty hard though, I only got two rides from Jacksonville to Pensacola and one was a cop hop.

Yeah that's why I'm trying just catch a bus to where ever and go from there. What's up with Rainbow though? When's the next one and where is it? If I can get to where others are I'll find road dogs. Just need to know a good place to start. Hell even a popular squat to just show up at would be dope.
 
i already mentioned this in our pm, but you could go out to slab city for the StP Jamboree. It would be a pretty wild (and possibly overwhelming) first step, but i'm sure it would be a great experience.

And how would you describe overwhelming if you were to get descriptive?? I'm intrigued lol
