Question experience in nyc, or northeast/midatlantic cities?

hi, I wondered if anyone had experience squatting in this region, or knew people who did?

i found some info, but connecting with people has been extremely hard and I haven't found support, but I would need it to squat

I'm open to other kinds of housing too, if anyone happened to know people in the region with extra space temporarily

(i apologize I struggle with how to ask in a good way that doesn't overwhelm me or lead to any conflict)

Back in the day I stayed in a few of the squats. But everyone I knew either died, or moved away. But when I was real young, my first time there, before I knew anyone, we sometimes slept at East River. Or under scaffolding, on the sidewalk. I'm not sure what kids do these days. But I'm sure you can meet some others of your kind in Tompkins Square Park. They'll give you the 411
