Need to break away..

Well my name is Sig.. I'm from Minnesota.
I'm not good at describing myself all at once but I'll try haha
I've had the desire to wander my whole life. And an absolute repulsion of this society and everything that goes on in it, it's never been able to distract me or entertain me so I feel comfortable in it.
Every time I've taken long hikes in the woods where I grew up I'd always get the urge to just keep going. Because doing what I do now is just trapping and halting me from growing.
And I know that traveling is something I have to do to grow.
I am shy at first, can be usually quiet. I am always thinking and observing everything around me. I live in southern Minnesota right now, and want to leave as soon as I can. I can't keep stalling life.

Welcome and good luck on your travels! I think we all know how that urge feels, and for myself especially I think following or at least acknowledging it was the first step in my decision to start living differently. It's awesome to know you're following your desire as well. You'll find a ton of useful information here.

Welcome, fellow newbie! I just got here on StP, myself. I totally feel ya on wanting to just keep walking during hikes and camping. Finally had one too many urges, decided to take off west, myself. Where ya headed??

Hope to see ya around :)

welcome, I say if your leather tramping it ( traveling on foot, or without vehicle) take advantage of this summer and depending on how long you want to be rambling maybe land somewhere around a southern coastal area into the winter to feel less hindered by the elements on your first trip, have fun and fair well wherever you go

Sometimes it's helpful to travel with a friend if you know someone in the area who might be feeling similar to you at the moment. Even putting a post on the local craigslist to see who else you might click with could get the ball rolling. Nothing wrong with solo traveling though. I just know that for myself it has been more enjoyable to share these experiences with others of like-mindedness.
