Hey all, ended up hitting the slabs for a few days around New Years.

Ended up camping on the other side of the canal halfway between siphon 7 & 8. Got stuck in the Tamarisk in the soft wet sand after the torrential downpours they had this season, nothing a shovel and some mesquite beaches couldn't fix!

Went to an awesome show at The Range and counted down the New Year, danced like a moron in the front row with my travel partner!

Finally checked out Katamari bar, and went down to chill at the library for a bit. Also see all the touristy shit I've never done, like hit Salvation Mtn., Carhenge, the Tanks, and Flamingo Camp.

Saw an EMS helicopter land on the siphon and fly someone out late in the morning while tripping on some L, crazy thing to watch!

Hit the Quartzsite Gem Show on the way out and got myself some fancy rocks!

Great pics, Coywolf! You look really healthy and happy too. When ya coming back up this way? We got some trains to ride I do believe.
 
Thanks man! It will probably be a while, as this job has me tied down harder than a detainee in Guantanemo.

I'm trying to get another seasonal type job so I can travel again. REALLY hard to do what I want to do and hold down my career at the same time. I'll definitely be updating if anything changes!
 
Thanks, @sheepflip ! Just picked up a small piece of Amethyst. Going to stick it to my Van's dashboard...the start of my dashboard shrine, lol

I tried to convey this fact to my friend while we were trippin' ....and they couldn't understand why I didnt want to know or look at the time while on hallucinogens....whaddya gonna do....?

HELLZ YA! That was a good time. We will definitely cross paths again soon. I'll probably be back in the slabs in a while. Did you end up going to Anza Borrego?

Dude, High West is probably some of the best whiskey I've ever had. If we meet up sometime I'll definitely get a bottle!
 
@Matt Derrick Half of those pics are with an iPhone 9, and the other half with a Galaxy S9. These new phones are kicking serious ass with the image quality.

I'm also about to buy a new GoPro and start getting my channel back up to speed. More videos about Vandwelling, my build, and the adventures I go on (fucking work, or itd be trains)
 
How was the Whiskey???... 🥃 (Have not had GOOD Whiskey in a while)
I have a 1.50$/ 7.2abv Grand Imperial Porter atm not to bitter... trying to stay away from the cheap ass vodka before the world ends.

Fucking amazing pics, Coywolf! I hope to make it down there to Slab City some time soon. Maybe this summer, a west-coast roadtrip and rail-hop from Vancouver down to Mexico seems about right.
