Should I buy a tent or a hammock or tarp. Trying to keep it light for my Alice pack.

I just use the bivy bag from the Military Sleep System.

it basically depends on what you're trying to protect yourself from. a lot of folks on here are fans of bivys but i like a good light free standing tent to keep the skeeters off me.
